We're a team of Sri Lankans who grew up playing sports anywhere, anytime, and with literally anything we could get our hands on.
If you grew up here, you know exactly what we mean. A piece of wood was a cricket bat, two slippers made a goalpost, and the empty street was our stadium. From school grounds to neighbourhood lots, we played until all the tennis balls were broken or up on Sunil uncle's roof. Sports wasn't a scheduled activity — it was just life.
But as we grew up, things naturally changed. We chased degrees, travelled the world, built careers, and our daily routines got incredibly busy. The free time shrank, and getting the old crew together became harder.
Whenever the craving to play hit us, we noticed a real disconnect. First, it was tough to round up enough friends who were free at the same time. And even when we did, tracking down a venue with an open slot felt like a puzzle we just didn't have time to solve. The spontaneous, easy games we used to love suddenly required way too much planning.
We missed the sweat, the banter, and that raw energy of just being out on the pitch together. We knew there had to be a way to bring that feeling back — not just for us, but for everyone.
So we built Volt. We're on a mission to power up the sports landscape in Sri Lanka for all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a student looking for a post-exam futsal match, a busy professional trying to squeeze in weekend badminton, or someone just looking to start moving and stay healthy — we're removing the resistance.
